Regenerative Medicine in Vilnius
A Guide for UK Patients

A growing number of UK patients are travelling to Vilnius for regenerative therapies not routinely available at home.

The Current UK Landscape

This page covers what's most relevant for UK patients specifically: where things stand today, travel logistics, and what to expect. For the broader picture of treatments, the medical team, and the patient journey, see our main Lithuania guide.

In the UK, most mesenchymal stem cell therapies and exosome therapies are not routinely available through the NHS or standard private clinics. Access to advanced regenerative and cellular therapies remains limited, and many of the treatments patients read about are simply not offered domestically outside of a research setting.

Regenerative medicine in the UK is regulated by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), with advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) also falling under the oversight of the Health Research Authority and the Human Tissue Authority. Under that framework, most advanced cell therapies remain confined to clinical trials or a small number of specialist centres, rather than being widely accessible.

For UK patients who want access to advanced regenerative medicine now, there is a clear pathway: travelling to Vilnius, where these treatments are administered under EU and Lithuanian regulation at Innovita Clinic, in some cases for over 20 years. For many patients we work with, that is the practical route to care that is not yet routinely available at home.

Regulatory Context

Patients who travel to Lithuania for treatment do so under EU and Lithuanian medical regulation, not under UK MHRA authorisation. This is a different regulatory framework, with different evidence, manufacturing, and authorisation standards. We don't represent that any treatment available in Vilnius is MHRA-approved or available through the NHS.

Since Brexit, this arrangement is unchanged for the purposes of medical travel. UK citizens continue to travel to Lithuania visa-free for short stays, and treatment abroad remains a personal decision made between the patient and the treating clinic.

What this means in practice for UK patients:

  • Treatment occurs in Lithuania, under EU and Lithuanian medical regulation
  • We stay in touch with clients following treatment, and advise you to continue with your existing GP or medical provider for any and all other care that isn't correlated to the treatment you'll be receiving in Lithuania

Travel from the United Kingdom

Unlike patients travelling from North America, UK patients have direct flights to Vilnius International Airport (VNO). Ryanair and Wizz Air fly direct from London to Vilnius in about two and a half hours, which makes the trip considerably simpler than a connection through a European hub.

Direct and one-stop options from the UK:

  • London (Stansted or Luton): direct on Ryanair or Wizz Air, roughly 2h35m
  • Manchester: typically one stop via London or a European hub
  • Edinburgh: typically one stop via London or a European hub
  • Birmingham: typically one stop via London or a European hub

For most UK patients, treatment is combined with a longer trip, typically 5-10 days total, depending on protocol.

What's Available

Innovita Clinic offers immunotherapy, regenerative medicine, and longevity protocols. Each is detailed on its own page; the categories below cover what's available.

Next-Generation MSC Therapy

A highly specific population of mesenchymal stem cells, selected and cultured in low-oxygen conditions to strengthen their stress-enduring qualities. They're used to repair tissue, calm an overactive immune system, and bring down inflammation, and they're the backbone of most protocols we coordinate.

Exosome Therapy

Tiny vesicles released by stem cells that carry signals between your cells. They're studied for tissue repair and immune modulation, and they're small enough to cross the blood-brain barrier, which can be a real advantage for neurological conditions.

Learn More

Peptide Therapy

Short chains of amino acids that signal specific processes in the body. Depending on the peptide, that can mean faster tissue healing, restoring hormonal balance, modulating the immune system, sharper metabolism, deeper sleep, or clearer cognition. We source and coordinate the ones that fit what you're working on.

IV Therapy

Vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants delivered straight into the bloodstream, where your body can use them right away. We run it on its own or alongside stem cell, exosome, and peptide protocols to support energy, recovery, and resilience.

Biologics

Biological products like cord blood plasma, placenta cryoprecipitate, and concentrated growth factors. Many are birth-tissue-derived, rich in the proteins, cytokines, and growth factors the body uses to restore cellular function. Used on their own or alongside a protocol.

Multi-Modality Protocols

People are unique, and more often than not so are the conditions they're dealing with. So most plans pair more than one therapy. Dr. Darinskas and his team combine stem cells, exosomes, peptides, and biologics around your specific case.

Regulatory frameworks for advanced therapy medicinal products differ between the UK (MHRA) and the EU (EMA and Lithuanian authorities); standards for evidence, manufacturing, and authorisation vary by jurisdiction and continue to evolve.
